THE MILLENNIUM


The word "millennium" does not occur in the Bible; it simply means 
"thousand years". The Biblical "thousand years" is mentioned six times in 
Revelation chapter 20, and therefore it is worth our looking closely at it 
to see what is being referred to.

From what we understand in Revelation chapters 19 and 20, the millennium 
comes after the second coming of Jesus and before the second resurrection. 
Check the texts below to confirm the various happenings connected with the 
second coming, the millennium and the second resurrection:


A. Events Connected With the Second Coming


	1. Christ returns					Revelation 19:11-16

	2. The "Righteous" dead are raised			Revelation 20:4-6

	3. The "Righteous" become immortal			Revelation 20:6

	4. The "Righteous" go to heaven with Christ		Revelation 20:4

	5. The living wicked are killed 	 		Revelation 19:21

	6. The wicked dead remain dead				Revelation 20:5


B. Events Connected With the Millennium


	1. The "Righteous" reign with Christ 1000 years	Revelation 20:4,6

	2. Satan is bound to the earth				Revelation 20:1-3

	3. The earth is desolate				Revelation 20:1


C. Events Connected With the Second Resurrection  		Revelation 20:13-15


	1. The wicked are raised				Revelation 20:5
	
	2. Satan is loosed 	 				Revelation 20:7

	3. The wicked are destroyed				Revelation 20:14,15

	4. The Holy City descends				Revelation 21:2

	5. The earth is made new				Revelation 21:1


Note that the word "Righteous" has nothing to do with how good we are, the 
Righteous are simply those who have accepted Christ as their Saviour and 
admit that they themselves are not worthy to be saved.
